Treasurer’s Report: Dennis Wrenn M/A/S
Misc.  Have deposits for more that one account. 
Received national rebates $2543.00  with more money coming.
 The assoc. has sponsored several clinics and paid our insurance policy for this year.
$22,333.67 now in account.  Dennis asks all Festival managers to please turn in P.O.’s

Web Site Report: Dave Jost
We can now modify files.  Dave will modify the look and content and fix dates and cost reports.

News Letter:  Paul Combs
Call for articles by the end of March!!!!  Rich Falco, and New England Jazz Alliance who are working with Berkley College and Jazz videos are Receiving Nat’l recognition.  There will be a short newsletter in April. Paul plans to address members who do not attend band festivals to cover and serve the rest of the membership.
The issue will be in a small format of half page size. Ray asks; could we address the ms/hs district jazz band student.  How can we improve his or her success in this process?  “How to prepare for an addition!”

Composition Report: Jim O’Dell, given by Ray
Monday April 28 is the deadline! Mailed stuff to Ray.  Has asked for a list of e-mail addresses of all the festival participants.  Ray to forward Jim letter.  Dave Jost to help this process with live music support.

Senior District Reports:   (Check Web Site for dates and contact info)
Snow dates to be set up locally as needed!  (Ray) There was a discussion of the rolling pay scale for judges.  It is based on the number of schools or the amount time they are working.  (Don)

Central:  Dennis Wrenn
There are 18 Bands registered for 08.  We are Looking at a noon start.
 Space is tight right now may have to cut the number if too many more bands register late.
Reading will be also coming to Central w/2 Bands
Discussion regarding the Choosing of A/B size bands. Looking for balance. Awards will be around 10:00 PM. Concern for schools to avoid arriving at 2:00 to 2:30 PM time to avoid school dismissal.

Southeast:  Steve Conant, John reporting 9 registered for 08. 12 to 13 last year

West: Pat Kennedy, There are 6 bands registered and maybe 2 more. Ray will forward Dennis and Don the e-mail information regarding these bands

Northeast: Dave Bunten, The Festival will be held at the new Reading HS Aud.!!! Right now 18 bands are coming.  Looking for a 3:00 PM start time

Cape Cod Coastal:  Russ Campoli
 Presently 7 bands registered and all e-mails sent out. Thanks to Russ for all his work.  This is his last as Festival Director.  Looking for someone new to step up.

Choir/Combo Reports:  Dave Jost/Stan Ellis, All set for April 16th at WPI.  Mill City to do recording.

F. State Finals:  Dennis and Dave
Off and rolling State festival and Is new date for state fest. "A" bands are to be at Algonquin Regional in Northborough, Westborough to host the B bands.  Sound and rooms all set!  New Grand Piano at Algonquin!  A donation to Westborough Music Assoc. and Algonquin for $250.00 will be paid out. Custodian expense for both buildings will also be paid.  Start times will be at 11:00 AM in Westborough.  Awards time and place to be determined.

Junior Festivals: Central Dennis Wrenn, Trottier Middle School, Southborough: 1 group so far
Northeast:  Joe Mullian, Same as central
Southeast:  John Kearns, Looking Good.
West - Luke Bailargeon, Nothing else yet

Hatch Shell /Showcase Concert: Ray, Still no response from Berkley to sponsor this concert.

Adjudication: D. Bastarache
Don passed out judge list.  Should we have a constant for all the clinics in each festival?  The consensus was yes.  Jeff Holmes and Ted Levine will be the constant at the West fest.

New Business
March 7th, Friday, is the NESSMA Jazz Band Festival at Reading with Dave Buntan.

Dennis reports a very positive iaje national conference. NY great Toronto is not as big a venue
Two Students from Massachusetts in the Grammy Band and the Clifford Brown All Stars.
Greg Chaplain of Hopedale, MA on bass and Jake Herman from Boston Latin played Piano.
Congratulations to those talented students!
The New Holyoke Jazz Festival will be held on 4/26 and 4/27.  Earnie Watts and the Average Jazz Band will be featured Guests.
